Chair Study
This four-panel chair study explores chairs from multiple perspectives using ink and watercolor. Each panel presents a different view or angle of chairs rendered with loose, expressive line work combined with gestural washes of gray and black ink. The compositions feature both structural line drawings and organic, flowing ink stains that suggest movement and dimension. The scattered ink dots and splashes add spontaneity and energy to the otherwise technical drawings, creating a balance between precision and abstraction. Together, the panels form a contemplative exploration of form, perspective, and the chair as an everyday object worthy of artistic investigation. (c) 2009
